Student Government
The Tribeca Flashpoint Student Government represents the student voice and aims to build a liaison between students, faculty and staff, and administration in order to ensure the welfare of our community. Through strong leadership, Student Government strives to provide all students with opportunities to grow academically, artistically, professionally and personally.
Suspension
Suspension is a place made by students, for students. We are a collaborative media-sharing center, a hub for networking within TFA. Our aim is to suspend your disbelief in your art, inspiring confidence though constructive criticism and friendly support. Suspension is evolving into a website for students to log into and upload their personal work, a safe zone for artists to develop and grow in their craft.
Audio Engineering Society (AES)

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) - now in its sixth decade - is the only professional society devoted exclusively to audio technology. Its membership of leading engineers, scientists, academics and other authorities has grown dramatically throughout the world, boosting the stature of the society and that of its members. The AES serves its members, the audio industry and the public by stimulating and facilitating advances in the field of audio. It encourages and disseminates new developments through annual technical meetings and exhibitions of professional equipment, and through its many publications including Convention Papers, Conference Proceedings, Tutorials, online publications and The Journal of the Audio Engineering Society.
Film Society
Film Society is for students of all disciplines to explore the art and process of filmmaking and meet independent filmmakers while socializing with one another. The Film Society organizes screenings and Q&A's in Tribeca Flashpoint's own state-of-the-art screening room, as well as outings to view new releases at area movie theaters.
Flashpoint Fossils
Whether you're aging like fine wine or like milk, you are welcome to "walker" it on over to the Old People's Club. The goal of the Old People's Club is to raise the comfort level of those who are above the average college age (25 and up), whether they're in their first year of college or are going back to school. At our meetings, we help each other with age related problems (such as our Hair Loss Support Group), but mostly we tell jokes. We also aim to help other student organizations whenever possible by assisting on projects where needed.
Veterans Club
The Veterans Club gathers student veterans together to talk about the issues they face as former members of our armed forces. We work to bring in speakers to talk with students about issues they face while in transition, as well as to show solidarity and support.
Gay Straight Alliance (GSA)
Tribeca Flashpoint’s Gay Straight Alliance connects Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, and Allied (LGTBA) students in all fields of media to create a safe environment to network, act as a support group to motivate each other, create opportunities for future collaborative projects, and view and discuss LGTB films and the latest news relating to civil rights. Even if you don't identify as LGTB, it's a great way to show support for your fellow Tribeca Flashpoint students and encourage everyone to be themselves.
Women in Media
Tribeca Flashpoint's Women in Media group strives to connect women in all fields of media arts. Our mission is to create opportunities for future collaborative projects and act as a support group to motivate more women to enter the field. Finally, Women in Media aims to build stronger networks by emphasizing the critical importance of grooming women for leadership and mentorship roles, preparing them to serve as exemplary models both as skilled media professionals and as women.
Electronic Music Producers Club
This is a club dedicated to electronic music producers for TFA students. If you produce music on your computer, whether it be house, dubstep, hip-hop, trance, etc., and you would like to get better, you're in the right place. Through this club, you will have all your producing questions answered. By listening critically to your most recent mixes, we will examine all the positive elements, as well as give constructive feedback, both technical or musical.
Concept Art Club
Concept Art Club focuses on developing your skills in both traditional and electronic art. Bring your sketchbook and add compositions to your portfolio as you work in mixed media and get constructive feedback from your peers.
Craft Club
TFA’s Craft Club is all about learning something new! Each month we master a new craft and find ways to put our newly developed skill to good use; knitting, crocheting, Canvas Art, Project Linus to name a few. These new crafting hobbies will help us relax in our hectic schedules when we meet once a week.
Crash Course Club
Designed to offer the opportunity for TFA students to participate in both learning and leading condensed task-specific teaching modules, based upon essential concepts from all departments in the TFA curriculum, as well as modules on extracurricular application programs and specialized projects. These workshops are aimed at introducing essential understanding and abilities required for basic functionality in both the technical and aesthetic concepts of all disciplines.
Digital Artists Club (D.A.C)
This club provides digital/3D students a consistent place and time to meet to develop their craft. We strive to create a collaborative culture at TFA and a space where students can hang out, complete coursework, and learn from each other on campus outside of the classroom. As well as sharing knowledge with peers, the club may also provide a platform for students to present demos or techniques to each other in a formal setting. Faculty may also be hosted to periodically give special demos or lectures.
Programming Club
Programming club is for those interested in programming to be able to get together and increase their knowledge in programming on the whole, hone their skills, or just get guidance on programming assignments. The club is open to any and all who wish to join and have a great time!
Unreal Club
The purpose of the Unreal Club is to strengthen the kismet skills of the club members. At the beginning of each session a member will present the functions of a single kismet node to the group and answer any questions they can. The presentations last from 5-20 minutes depending on the complexity of the node’s functions. The rest of the time would be spent either working on class projects or creating portfolio-worthy work as a group. A large portion of the intended learning is to optimize kismet scripts for the most effective method possible.
