Michael Uslan Returns to TFA to talk Movies, Memoirs, and Making Your Moments

To say that Michael Uslan loves Batman is an understatement. In fact, the film producer and recent memoirist categorizes his love as an "obsession."

That obsession (detailed in his new book, The Boy Who Loved Batman) inspired him not only to teach the first college course on comic books, to follow his passion to New York and write for DC Comics, and break into the business via entertainment law, earning his stripes on projects like Rocky and Apocalypse Now.  It also fueled his drive to resurrect a fallen hero, buying the rights to Batman and to breathing life into one of the most successful franchises in movie history.

On Friday, August 12th, Uslan riveted a Tribeca Flashpoint Academy audience with his personal journey from "the boy who loved Batman" to "the man who loved making Batman movies.” From growing up a lover of comic books to funding Batman (1989) to wrapping 2008's iconic  The Dark Knight, Uslan shared the ways in which he stuck his foot in the door and, in his own words, “made the moments” that made his boyhood dream come true.

Uslan’s inspirational story was followed by a Q&A and a book signing, during which attendees asked specific questions and got a more intimate view of the man behind Batman's dark mystique.
