Finalizing Your Enrollment

Congratulations on your acceptance to Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy! As you prepare for your first year at TFA, we’ll be here to answer your questions and help prepare you for your academic career.

Tuition Deposit and Required Paperwork

Along with your acceptance letter, you have received a packet containing instructions for paying your tuition deposit and submitting required paperwork, including:

• High school / college transcripts
• Two letters of recommendation
• Pinkerton background check form
• A copy of your driver’s license or state ID

In order to finalize your enrollment and schedule your COMPASS® Test, we must have all of the above on file. To pay your tuition deposit or submit paperwork, please contact Lindsay Drucker at 312.506.0624, or lindsay.drucker@tfa.edu.
 

Orientation Packets

Orientation packets for incoming students will emailed approximately one month prior to your first week of classes. The orientation packet will contain:

• Orientation schedule
• List of required texts
• List of required University Reader course packs
• List of required school supplies
• List of required hardware & software

Important: Please do not purchase a laptop and/or other hardware until your Orientation Packet has arrived. We wait to release the Orientation Packets to comply with all hardware and software updates from developers in the industry. This method ensures that all materials are up to date with industry standards.

COMPASS® Tests and Transfer Credit

The COMPASS® test is mandatory for all incoming students. This test helps us understand your skill level in several key areas in order to place you in appropriate classes.

Approximately two months before the beginning of your first semester, after your tuition deposit and required paperwork have been submitted, the Registrar will contact you via email with further information about COMPASS® testing and transfer credits. If you do not receive this email at least one month prior to your start date, please contact The Office of the Registrar at registrar@tfa.edu, or call 312.506.0621.

Setting Up Your Student Email

Once you complete your COMPASS® test, you will be given your student email address and login information. This email address will be your key to accessing student discounts at the Apple Store and the Academic Superstore.
 

Student Discounts on Required Materials

Once you have set up your student email address [firstname.lastname@tfa.edu], you’ll be able to take advantage of select student discounts at the Apple Store and the Academic Superstore. You may access those discounts through the links below:

• Apple Store Discount
  Receive discounts on select required laptops, hardware and software from Apple.
• Academic Superstore
  Receive student discounts on a wide range of software products.
   

Student Insurance Options

If you do not belong to an existing insurance plan, Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy students can take advantage of one of Sentry's student insurance options at an affordable monthly cost.  Read more about Sentry’s student insurance options (3.97MB PDF).
